THE SHORT VERSION
Your data stays on your device. We don't collect it, store it, or have any access to it. There are no accounts, no cloud, no servers processing your information. Your effort logs are yours alone.
WHAT THE APP STORES
Outlay stores the following data locally on your device:
- Log entries you create (activity name, duration, notes)
- Categories you define
- App preferences and settings
This data never leaves your device. We have no mechanism to access it.
WHAT WE DON'T COLLECT
- Personal information (name, email, phone)
- Your log entries or categories
- Location data
- Device identifiers
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Anything else
NO ACCOUNTS
Outlay doesn't have accounts. There's nothing to sign up for, nothing to log into. Download the app and start using it immediately.
NO CLOUD
There is no cloud sync feature. Your data exists only on your device. If you delete the app, your data is deleted. If you want to preserve your data, export it manually using the in-app export feature.
NO TRACKING
The app contains no analytics SDKs, no tracking pixels, no crash reporting that sends data to servers. We don't know how many people use the app, which features they use, or anything else about usage patterns.

This website (outlay.app) is a static website. It uses minimal cookies only for basic functionality. See our Cookie Policy for details.

DATA PORTABILITY
You can export all your data as a CSV file at any time through Settings > Export in the app. This gives you full control over your data.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If we ever change how we handle data (which would be difficult given we don't handle any), we'll update this page. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
